Pensionskasse der Mitarbeiter der Hoechst-Gruppe VVaG, one of the largest pension funds in Germany, has decided to overhaul its entire application environment on the basis of products from adesso insurance solutions GmbH. Contracts to this effect were signed in late February. The aim of the project, which starts in early March, is to keep the system environment and the processes viable for the future in the long term and to leverage the additional strategic potential offered by the product portfolio and digitalisation. To this end, the existing inventory management system, which was largely developed specifically for the customer on the basis of SAP R/3 HR, will be replaced with modules of the in|sure standard software.

Pensionskasse der Mitarbeiter der Hoechst-Gruppe has a unique business model for a pension fund. In addition to managing an additional pension scheme, Höchster Pensionskasse VVaG, its responsibilities go beyond the traditional pension fund business to include the management and administration of direct commitments made by affiliated companies. The new application environment therefore has to be capable of also modelling and reflecting the varied pension systems of the insured enterprises in particular. Moreover, it additionally needs to be flexible in terms of integrating new pension systems. The new application environment from adesso insurance solutions - with components for managing pension fund contracts and direct company commitments, a solution for partner management, and systems for legally required reporting and the billing of pension payments - will make it possible to further optimise and automate processes going forward.

As part of the project, adesso insurance solutions will expand the already broad product portfolio for pension funds to include a billing system for pension scheme payments. In doing so, adesso insurance solutions will fill a niche in the market, as there are no satisfactory products currently available for the billing and payment of pension commitments. The new module, in|sure Pen Pay, will therefore not only make it possible to oversee pension funds and determine tax and social security levies on payments, but will also provide the information and details of transfer files for banking software, for billing payment recipients and for generating reports for fiscal authorities, health insurance providers and Zulagenstelle für Altersvermögen (ZfA), the federal German agency responsible for private pensions.

"For the overhaul of our application environment, we have found in adesso insurance solutions a partner who has won us over with both its technical and professional expertise in the field of company pension schemes and is therefore ideally prepared to meet our needs and tackle the resulting challenges," says Jürgen Rings, chairman of the management board of the two Frankfurt-based pension funds.
